In 2022, we had a holiday on the north coast of Scotland, staying at the wonderful lighthouse at Strathy Point. One day, browsing in the bookshop at John O'Groats, I found a lovely book The British Lighthouse Trail by Sarah Kerr. The perfect book for list-baggers who like travelling to distant islands and coastal extremities. So I of course I bought the book, and wondered, how many lighthouses have I visited (or as least seen)? After several happy hours trawling through my photos, and a few more lighthouse-spotting trips, I came up with the answer: 126 (just over 20% of the 612 listed in the book).
